The Body Perfect
by Dr. Gus Reynolds, II, D.C., M.Sc, CCN, DACBN

The year was 1946. It was the best and the worst of times. The war was over and life was returning to normal. The federal government realized it had massive amounts of ammonium nitrate left over from the manufacture of ammunitions that could also be used as fertilizer. Although this substance was plentiful, it was not beneficial. Thus began a sequence of events, which removed many nutrients from the soil while at the same time increasing crop production. As a result, our soil is now depleted of calcium, magnesium, zinc and phosphorus. These are minerals which chelate, or bind, and enhance the effectiveness of many other essential nutrients. Later, food processing brought us items that were cheaper and easier to prepare, but once again lacked essential nutrients. Additives, preservatives, dyes, antibiotics, hormones, and other toxins were also gradually added to the foods we consumed. In more recent times, we have seen irradiated and genetically modified foods come into being.

Before all these modifications to our food, cooking was already removing vitamins and enzymes, which are responsible for some 6,000 cellular functions every minute. Our water in many areas of the nation and state contain chlorine, flouride, mercury, lead, and arsenic in unacceptable amounts. As a result, rates of degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, autism, attention deficit disorder, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and cancer are soaring.

However, it is possible to stay vital and healthy, physically, mentally and emotionally your entire life. Most people believe that we are born; grow old, get sick, and die.

This is a really bad plan. You can age with dignity, vigor, and even with energy. That is because your body is the most complete and highly integrated structure found in nature. It totally reproduces itself every seven years! Red blood cells replenish themselves every 120 days, your skin renews itself, and even your bones undergo a redo every 7 years. The world's finest computer pales in the presence of such a magnificent organism. Nature intended for you to have a long and healthy life. You only need to give it the proper ingredients, including good nutrition, pure water and clean air. Your body will do the rest.

Remember: The power that made the body can heal the body.
